Hi  All

Last year I proposed a possible trip to southern WA for 10-14 days focusing on Albany, Esperance, and various national parks in the area including Stirling, Porongurup and Fitzgerald.  The prime time for wild flowers is from September to November.  Ruth and I are unable to commit to doing this at this stage, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t go ahead as quite a number expressed interest in being part of it and others who have joined more recently might also have an interest.  I anticipate that the best way for it to happen would be hiring of vehicles in Perth as happened on a comparable trip 3 years ago and staying in shared accommodation in 4-5 locations.

Although uncertain as to whether we can go, I am happy to convene an initial gathering of those interested to talk about the feasibility of it.  I propose that we meet after the walk on Friday February 23.

Let me know if you have an interest and whether the 23rd is a suitable meeting date.

Cheers

Stephen

Coolart Homestead and Wetlands Walk Photos

By | General News, Weekend Walk

Thank you to Joy. H for organising our latest Saturday walk to Coolart Homestead and Wetlands and to Rhonda.S for sending through the below photos.

We were very lucky with wonderful weather and a big group of 22 enjoying the walk. There were a series of walking tracks (loops) throughout the park which allowed us to explore coastal woodlands, wetland areas, artificial lagoons and the formal gardens which surround the homestead. Many of the group enjoyed looking at the art exhibition afterwards in the homestead.

A relaxing BYO picnic lunch was enjoyed by all under the shade of the beautiful trees.
