Getting involved in EEWG

By | General News

The other important notice is that we are looking for interested members who would like to take on one of these committee and sub-committee positions.

·        Secretary

·        Membership Secretary

·        Database Manager

The Secretary position will be vacant from the AGM and the Membership Secretary from the 1 June. Both Ann and Mark are very happy to answer questions about the roles and of course are very happy to support the person who takes them on.

Roger is the current Database Manager and is looking to hand over his role during the next six months. He will work along-side the new person during the scheduling and planning process.

We are very sorry that Ann, Mark & Roger are not able to continue in their roles. They have been doing an outstanding job which is very much appreciated.

All three positions are very important roles for our Group. Please consider getting involved by taking on one of these positions. Remember the Secretary and Membership Secretary roles are positions that change over every two years.

No dogs policy

By | General News

After discussion by both the Committee and the Walks Program Sub-Committee we have decided to implement a ‘no-dogs’ policy. This means that dogs can not accompany us on our scheduled weekly and weekend walks.

The policy has been put in place because of the risk of tripping over them while we are walking.

This has not been an easy decision because of the club’s past history where a dog was one of the reasons for the club starting. We also have had some very well behaved dogs walking with us that have not caused any problems. The club now has over 100 members and with really good numbers attending, it is important that we take every opportunity to ensure members can walk safely.

Please ring Kathy you have any concerns.
