This months Weekend walk is from Point Cook Coastal Park to the Observation Tower at Cheetham Wetlands and return. Their is also the option of a free tour of the RAAF Museum after the walk and lunch, (although not particularly my thing I found the Museum very interesting and informative.)

Point Cook Coastal Walk to Look out Tower Cheetham Wetlands

RSVP: on or before Tuesday April 18, 2017

Level of difficulty: Easy.

Passenger contribution to driver: $5 per person.

Car-pooling: Leaving at 8.30 a.m. from Civic Centre Car Park, Drive should take approximately ¾ quarters of an hour and is 52 ½ kilometres each way

9:30am: Drinks at: Waterstone Café, Greg Norman Drive, Sanctuary Lakes.

10.00 a.m. Leave Cafe to Drive to the Coastal Park, Point Cook

10:30 – 12:30 Walk from Coastal Park, along the track or the beach depending on the tide and personal choice, continue on path to the Homestead (unfortunately closed to the public) then onto the Observation Tower at Cheetham Wetlands for a drink and viewing. We then return via the same route.

1:00pm – Lunch– Please bring a Picnic Lunch to eat at the Coastal Park, this can be left in cars until our return. Toilets are located at the Beach Recreation where we are parked

2.30 – Drive to Exit on Main Road turning left off Side Entrance Road, turn left onto Point Cook Road for a short drive to the RAAF Museum, Driver ID will be required at the gate, Drive to Museum Car Park, Museum is opposite the far end of the Museum Car Park.
